New Browns GM John Dorsey rips previous Moneyball front office for not

first_img It sounds like DePodesta might be getting a pink slip before he print his next spreadsheet. New Browns GM John Dorsey has a lot of work to do for a franchise with one win in the last 2 seasons, and in an interview with Cleveland radio station WKNR 850, he didn’t mince words with his opinion of the previous front office. When asked a question about head coach Hue Jackson, the former Chiefs GM took a direct shot at the players on the current roster and those that acquired them:“You know what? You’ve got to get a guy like that (Hue Jackson) players. And you know what? I’ll come straight out with it. The guys who were here before, that system, they didn’t get real players.”The comments are clearly directed at previous Executive VP Sashi Brown, but probably don’t bode well for “Moneyball” pioneer, and current Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta, who has attempted to bring his baseball analytics approach to the NFL.
