EVEN THE SUN COMES OUT FOR THE MARTELLO ADVENTURE EVENT!

first_imgCrohey Head outside Dungloe was the backdrop for the 2012 Martello Adventure event which attracted a great field of local and visitor participants. The facilities at the Maghery Community Centre are second to none with changing areas, sports field, indoor hall and canteen facilities, ideal for hosting all types of events, that coupled with the fine weather and the stunning scenery made for a very enjoyable event. In a real test of endurance the adult event provided a 5k run, 20k cycle and a 300meters of water obstacle and while it may seem short it did use the local terrain especially in the cycle event which used the narrow and steep climbs around crohey head .First man across the line was Peter Mc Gee in a time of 1.16.22 followed by Adrian Ward in 1.16.40 with Noel Diver third in a time of 1.17.34. Marie Boyle was first lady home in a brilliant time of 1.22.19 followed by Aine O Callaghan at 1.29.27. John Wallace, Stephen Glackin and Christopher Mc Shea won the team event. In the junior sections Dylan Sweeney, Oisin Bonner and Seamus Sweeney were first three home in the under 12 section with the Corrigan brothers and Ellie Mc Donnell were home first in the under 16 event. Former International goalkeeper Packie Bonner was on hand to present the prizes to the winners. The organsiers would like to thank Harnett Hayes solicitors, Super Value Dungloe, Mc Shane Fruit, First Aid Plus all the stewards and helpers for the great support, Special word of thanks to the committee of the Maghery Community Centre who provided the post event refreshments. No: Name: Time: Category:1 86 Peter Mc Gee 1:16.22 Gents2 96 Adrian Ward 1:16.40 Gents3 103 Noel Diver 1:17.34 Gents4 83 Paul Mc Closkey 1:18.18 Gents (V)5 84 Gary Gillespie 1:19.15 Gents 6 90 Noel Mc Bride 1:21:14 Gents7 71 Marie Boyle 1:22.19 Ladies (V)8 104 Denis Bonner 1:22.19 Gents9 105 Doalty Boyle 1:23.13 Gents 10 145/117/119 John Wallace, Stephen Glackin, Christopher Mc Shea 1:24.08 Team11 118 Adrian Sweeney 1:24.50 Gents12 74 Brendan Mc Garvey 1:25.59 Gents13 112 Raymond Sweeney 1:26.25 Gents14 78 Mark Doherty 1:26.55 Gents15 69 Seamus Morrison 1:27.08 Gents (V)16 98 Owen Coyle 1:27.27 Gents17 94/95 Basil Malone, Michael Duddy 1:27.57 Team18 100 Patrick Mc Glynn 1:28.28 Gents (V)19 113 Marty Doherty 1:28.30 Gents (V)20 102 Mark Sweeney 1:28.39 Gents21 80 Damien Brennan 1:28.57 Gents22 111/110 Trio Mc Gonagle, Stephen Rodgers 1:29.15 Team23 93 Aine Malone 1:29.27 Ladies24 107/106 Zaria Boyle, Tony Boyle 1:29.57 Team25 116 Ciaran Mc Elwaine 1:30.37 Gents (V)26 99 Francis Doherty 1:30.42 Gents27 82 Pat O’Donnell 1:30.49 Gents28 87 Claire Quinn 1:33.23 Ladies (V)29 101 Paul Nash 1:34.21 Gents (V)30 79 Conor Hanlon 1:34.42 Gents31 56 Helen Doherty 1:34:56 Ladies32 47/48/49 Sinead Diver, Tom Somerville, Eimear Boyle 1:35.06 Team33 97 Brendan Mc Gee 1:35.21 Gents34 89 Charles O’Donnell 1:35.28 GentsEVEN THE SUN COMES OUT FOR THE MARTELLO ADVENTURE EVENT! was last modified: August 7th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img
