MST Global has announced that its Wireless Repeater Node (WRN) has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Good Design Australia Awards. The WRN was selected from many entries in the 2017 Good Design® Selection. When announcing their decision, the jury commented: “The WRN is a rugged, fit for purpose design that has been executed flawlessly. User controls, ergonomics, choice of materials, fit and finish are as good as it gets. This is an excellent product and deserves recognition at the highest level.”MST said: “The Jury set the bar very high this year with only the very best submissions receiving this level of recognition.” The WRN is described as the “missing link” in ensuring high quality connectivity can be easily maintained to the most dynamic areas of a mine – that is the working faces and drives. “The WRN has set a global bench-mark in self-meshing wireless systems, enhancing MST Global’s unified communications portfolio.”The company adds: “It is the core features of the WRN that made it such a standout product to the judging panel, particularly its ability to create a completely independent full wirelessly meshed network/s and leverage the existing network infrastructure, as well as the Intrinsically Safe version available for coal mines. Light and portable with dual hot-swap batteries and extremely flexible antenna arrangements, the WRN can be set up almost anywhere – keeping the most active mine and tunnel areas visible for safety and productivity.”
