Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif orders officials to send help to Sri Lanka

“Pakistan offers condolences to the Government and people of Sri Lanka over the loss of more than 200 precious lives and the displacement of more than 400,000 people due to the devastating floods and the record rainfall in Sri Lanka,” a statement by the Foreign Office said. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed his officials to send all the necessary assistance to the Government and people of Sri Lanka, as required for the rescue and relief operations, SAMAA TV reported.The Pakistan Government also extended condolences to Sri Lanka after the devastating floods and heavy rainfall killed more than 200 people and left thousands of others homeless in the island nation. “Pakistan expresses solidarity with all those who have suffered due to these rains,” it said. “The people of Pakistan stand with the brotherly people of Sri Lanka at this time of grief,” it added.
