Driver faces prosecution for driving without insurance

first_imgDonegal Gardaí have seized a car after it was discovered that the driver did not have motor insurance.A court date will now be scheduled for the driver.Gardaí tweeted: “‘Little Peugeot’ hitching a lift to the compound! all because his driver didn’t have insurance. Prosecution to follow.” Driving without insurance is a serious offence, leading to fines, penalty points, and the possibility of disqualification.The driver of ‘Little Peugeot’ could now face a fine of up to €5,000, five penalty points, or a prison term not exceeding six months.The judge may also decide to disqualify the driver instead of incurring penalty points.
