Former Dawson Creek resident Ben Heppner has been named as a companion of the Order of Canada.The ceremony was headed by Gov. General Michaelle Jean on Tuesday. A total of 60 new appointments were made including 14 officers and 42 members. Ben is known as a world famous heldentenor and has become the world’s prime Wagnerian singer and many say one of the best in history. – Advertisement -Heppner, 52, was raised in Dawson Creek, studied at UBC, and sang briefly with the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
