Eight Chelsea players who could be sold by Antonio Conte

The Italian will want to sort out his defence as soon as he arrives and unfortunately the 30-year-old will be driven out to be replaced by a player of a higher calibre, or Matt Miazga should his emergence continue. 8 8. Papy Djilobodji – It’s unsure what the future holds for the Senegalese defender. He only played 59 seconds of football this season before being shipped off to Werder Bremen on loan. The German side are thinking of another short-term move for the player in the summer, which seems like a good option, but Conte could cash in to fund some frenzied transfer activity. 5. Victor Moses – With the news West Ham aren’t going to sign Moses when his loan spell ends, the nomadic winger will likely be looking for a new permanent home come July, despite signing a new deal last summer. 8 Now it has been confirmed Antonio Conte will become the next manager of Chelsea, their transfer plans will soon be coming together.Conte will take charge once he finishes his work with Italy at Euro 2016 in France but it is believed he is already plotting moves for players he believes will strengthen their squad.Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci are among the stars being linked with switches to Stamford Bridge but, before any of this can take place, he will have to sell some assets to balance his squad. So which players could find themselves leaving west London in the summer? talkSPORT takes a look.Click the right arrow above to see which Chelsea players we think Antonio Conte could sell in the summer… 6. Marco van Ginkel – This may not be a permanent deal but the Dutch midfielder has told press in the Netherlands he would like to extend his stay with PSV Eindhoven. The 23-year-old has netted five goals in eight games back in his homeland and staying seems like the right option as he looks to get his career back on track. 8 8 8 8 1. Loic Remy – Read all about it, below, then click the right arrow above to see which Chelsea stars could be leaving in the summer… – The Frenchman has only started six games this season and managed three goals so is likely to be sold on in the summer as Conte looks to bring in at least one striker, with Gonzalo Higuain being linked. At 29 he’ll be moved on for a decent fee, although the Blues might not get back all £10.5m they spent on the player. 8 4. John Obi Mikel – The Nigerian has been a key part of Guus Hiddink’s team in recent weeks but his Blues career could still be set to end as Conte arrives. The Italian will want a more dynamic edge to his midfield and, due to this, Mikel – who is about to turn 29 – will be shunted off to pastures new. 7. Christian Atsu – Injury saw the winger’s time with Bournemouth cut short earlier in the season and now he finds himself on loan in La Liga with Malaga. Even if he shows some extraordinary form it’s unlikely he’ll feature for the Blues’ first-team next year and the player may well want to move on, especially after losing momentum on his 2015 African Cup of Nations performances. 2. Marko Marin – Remember him? We do (just about). He’s currently over in Turkey playing for Trabzonspor in his fourth loan away from Stamford Bridge. He’ll still have another year to run on his Chelsea contract when he returns in the summer – if Trabzonspor don’t take up their option to buy. He’s a safe bet to be gone. 8last_img read more
